 Sado-island is still abundant in forest or nature, and knowend in origin of rice and so many fine Japanese SAKE.

Sado-island was one of island for exile from year around 1200 to 1868.
Emperor-JUNTOKU was in 1221, NICHIREN-JOUNIN, who is known at most famous Buddist in Japan, was in 1271, and ZEAMI, who is known at perfectioned NOH which one of Japan's most oldest arts, was in 1434. and more, many culturist , politician or many criminals were exiled to Sado-island from Edo(Tokyo) , Kyoto, Osaka or other main city of Japan.
Therefore, Sado-island had tradition and has been comedowned the heritage performing arts.
And also, had form the unique culture because passeded the KYOTO or SAMURAI both of culture, Nobel culture and so many tradesman culture, and these are still now.
Affected of ZEAMI, 200 over of NOH stage had in Sado-island in Edo-period, and 32 of stages remains still now. And it has been atrract the peapoles at the NOH in these stages who plays young loco boys and girls during every spring to autumn.


In 1601, found out the goldmine, "SADO GOLDMINE".
Mumyoi/無名異(pronounced "moo-myo-ee") is a type of pottery ware when born in around 1820, it made with Mumyoi Clay, which contains ferrous oxide and is obtained near the Sado goldmine.
This Mumyoi Clay was useful for medical purposes such as relieving symptoms of palsy, digestive problems, burns, and helping or stop bleeding at first. And it was over 200 years later to used into the pottery.
But in those days, Mumyoi had not enough strength can to proof for daily used, because no some of skill and equipment can to bake at high temperature.
After 50 years later, could make a baked hard tight Mumyoi wares at the end of trial and error.

Unlike other clay wares, mumyoi ware requires extra processing efforts; raw-polish, a process that polishes the products with coton cloth before baking, as well as process of polishing with sand after baking.
The particles of clay must be extemely fine, a quality which can only be obtained throuth as energy intensive filtration process using a clay-water mixture.

MUMYOI wares become dense the molecular structures, and may contract about 30% than the original size after baked in a kiln with high temperature come about 1200℃. So the products exceptionally hard and strong, and they makes clear metalic sound when tapped it.
Probably, it is impossible to find what shows like this high contract ratio at other wares, because other products are
almost about 10% or so.
At these property, MUMYOI have highly thermal conductivity, and also easy to wash than other pottery wares.
