The common iron wind chime is NAMBU-TETSU FUURIN / 南部鉄風鈴.
NANBU-TETSU FUURIN has maded with Iron called NANBU-TETSU in IWATE pref. where the east-north of Japan.
NANBU-TETSU products was born in around year 1700, when the manufacturing metohod came down from Kyoto.
Now a day, the manufacture are degreasing year and year, this NANBU-TETSU WARE is one of traditional industrial arts in Japan.

But around after year 1850, Japanese mold industry, offcourse included the ODAWARA-IMONO, had declined rapidly.
And now, it becamed the claftman is only TERUYUKI KASHIWAGI, who has been to succeed the traditional manufactuaring method and the spirits bornly is young Ⅲrd succession.
ODAWARA-IMONO has 2 kind of products, it is a Brass and a SAHARI.
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc run into the sand mold. And SAHARI is an alloy of copper and tin run into the sand mold.
Especialy, SAHARI is very difficult to the foundry and the processing than other iron, because the strength is brittle than
other metals.
The playing unique ringerling SAHARI sound will heal you, and you will utterly captivated by the SAHARI sound.
You can enjoy the shadable sound with a long lapse of using.

As others, TAKAOKA-BRASS FUURIN shows a modern design.

The products of NANBU-TETSU WARE was a pan, pot, kettle and other kitchen ware as mainly, and temple as other from the beginning.
In around year 1850, NANBU-TETSU had changed the figure and uses from a familiar products to a wepons which most cannnons

At the second world war, the role of iron had changed, and it was without exception NANBU-TETSU FUURIN which first ringed the pretty sound under the blue and clear summer sky in year 1914, and robed a small smile and ease from Japan.
And that affected, the NANBU-TETSU WARE and other iron industry had declined drasticaly, and moreover as spreaded of the alminium rapidly after that war, these circumstances conspired make accelated the decline of NANBU-TETSU WARE industry.

But now a day, it is regrettable but imitated low quality "NANBU FUURIN" has been maded and imported from China, and it saled as low price, under JP Yen 3000.

MOLD AND BRASS FUURIN

Most fameous MOLD or BRASS FUURIN is ODAWARA-FUURIN
ODAWARA-MOLD FUURIN has been manufactured with MOLD("IMONO" in Japanese), called ODAWARA-IMONO which has been maded in Odawara-city of Kanagawa-pref., near place from the Mt. Fuji.

ODAWARA-IMONO was born in year around 1500 with came down the manufacturing tecnique from Osaka, and many claftmans who come from Osaka had alive in ODAWARA, .
And they manufactured a tea ware, pan, kettle and a furin mainly for the common peoples, and bell for the temple as buddihsm.
